Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) Certificate
(Distance Learning and 1 day training and exams)

On 1st July 1999 local Water Byelaws in England and Wales were replaced by the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.

This learning package will help plumbers update their knowledge of this important legislation which is used to control the installation and use of water supply systems. The WRAS package will help you to implement Water Regulations competently. This is applicable not only in new installation work, but also to ensure you are able to identify and rectify contraventions that you come across in existing water supply systems.

It is aimed at practicing plumbers who already have knowledge of hot and cold water systems. But is also an essential tool for those who are involved with the installation, design, or specification of water systems or with buildings containing water systems.

The WRAS training package will enable course participants to:

become familiar with the contents of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999;

know how to comply with the Regulations in practice;

be aware of the primary legislation underpinning the Regulations;

have an understanding of the documents used to enhance and explain the meaning of the regulations and in particular the Regulators Specification on the prevention of backflow and the WRAS Water Regulations Guide;

The WRAS package
The WRAS training package contains an introductory booklet, 12 learning manuals and one support document in the form of a glossary of terms. The learning modules are supported by an introductory video outlining the contents of the regulations. Construction Skills Certificate Scheme
A Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is the easy way to prove that you are competent in your occupation and have health and safety awareness. And as it is the size of a credit card with your photo and unique reference number on it is easy to slip into your wallet to use as instant identification when you arrive on site.

So why CSCS
CSCS has been in existence for over 10 years. It was started to help the construction industry get quality up, accidents down and cowboy builders out. These are still the scheme's main objectives.

So why choose CSCS
CSCS is fast becoming the industry standard. It is supported by organisations such as the Major Contractors Group (MCG), National Contractors Federation (NCF), Major Home Builders Group (MHBG) and Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) all of whom are committed to a fully qualified workforce by the end of 2010.
Now major clients are also requesting that their contractors have a CSCS carded workforce. These include government, housing associations, NHS projects and private clients such as BAA.
